Avoid if you value your time
I was moved to Home Telecom from Cuckoo. There was a nice story spun but ultimately this company is owned under TalkTalk, a company I would never choose to use. I attempted to cancel my service in October 2024. I tried to call multiple times (you “need” to phone to cancel) but was continually on hold. I tried to use live chat but no one picked up the chat. Eventually I emailed my cancellation request. I got an automated ticket number and nothing further. My line was then physically disconnected with a move to a new ISP. I paid a further month (after a disconnected line) on direct debit to avoid any issues around billing. I tried to contact them again as a courtesy to no avail. I then cancelled my direct debit as a last resort. They seemed to realise this in January 2025 and was sent overdue notices and I was told to “leave it with me” by a finance team member when I eventually got to speak to someone. Fast forward another 3 months to April 2025 and my next communication is an email threatening legal action and CCJs. I respond immediately and get an automated ticket and nothing else a week later. I expect some level of disorganisation with a company’s support processes and tried to do the right thing by overpaying by a month. However the support has been unbelievably poor and I will be contacting OFCOM about my experience.
