What a joke of a breakdown service

What went wrong.Well,where do I start. Had a puncture on the motorway so called for help for a tyre change. When I called to report the breakdown the guy on the phone was telling me my policy was out of date.I tried telling him that my cover ran out on 30th July and that I had renewed it and had my email and documents to prove it.Anyway after so much deliberation and keeping me on hold numerous times he finally said he'd found my cover.Phew! However,then as he started asking me questions I told him I'd had a puncture and just needed it changing as I had a spare.It was as if he didn't know what he was doing.He asked me where I wanted to go??I said i didn't need to go anywhere and just have my tyre changed.Again,after another how many repeated answers he said my breakdown had be reported. I was told there was a 60-90 minute wait time which was reasonable. We waited over the 90 minutes just incase then I phoned for an update.I was told that he had put me down as being in Glasgow when I was on the M1 near Mansfield???I then spoke to the breakdown place and again was told the same 60-90 minutes as the person coming out was just leaving Leicester.We waited again (20minutes)and then got a text to track my breakdown vehicle.It was still the other side of Leicester and as I kept checking the tracking just did not move for about 30 minutes.Finally the tracker started working and we followed it up the M1.That 60-90 minutes turned into 4 hours!!!!!. That wasn't the end of it though.Oh no,when the vehicle turned up it was a relay transporter.I told the guy I only needed a tyre change not relay.He told me he would transfer me to the nearest services and the tyre would be changed.We sat in the back of his cab while he tried to put my car on the back of the relay truck.He couldn't get the ramp to lower for about another 15 minutes.Eventually he did it and got back into the truck.He then told us again he would take us to the services but then we would have to wait for someone else to come alway from Leicester again to change the tyre.We were not happy at all with that because that would mean atleast another hour waiting. We eventually got to the services and he tried to dump us in the middle of the HGV car park.Well, again he couldn't get the ramp to work and my car was stuck on the back of the truck for about half an hour.He had no idea what to do and just kept laughing (we did have a laugh ourselves but it was by no means funny).Fair play he did then get the car off eventually and he did then change the tyre himself to save us waiting another hour or so.Took about 10 minutes after all that waiting. It took us 7 hours to get somewhere that normally takes just over an hour.What a nightmare!!!! You asked me to send you a copy of this complaint so that you can take it up with the recovery company but if you go back and check your records then you should find that I DID send you the exact same complaint on the same day so you should already have the complaint on record!!!
