Anglian Water / Japanese Knotweed
Anglian Water lost us over £20,000 off the value of our house plus £2000 in abortive legal fees, not to mention the emotional and psychological stress because of their refusal (after an 8 year battle) to implement a proper Japanese Knotweed Management Plan. This directly resulted in the loss of two buyers and 16 months out of our lives, despite the best efforts of a local Councillor, our MP and CC Water in trying to get the CEO to see reason and go beyond their legal obligations. Despite being a huge and faceless organisation, there are still moral obligations to ones' neighbours. The excuse that, because they put the work out to tender each year therefore couldn't put a Plan in place is nonsense; the same contractors were used during the 8 year period and the JKMP is transferable. Glad to have moved out of the area so we're no longer helping to pay the salaries of such uncaring people.
