Lycamobile has great and affordable but customer service is usually poor

Lycamobile has great and affordable plans. I have been a loyal customer of Lycamobile for the past 7 years, and I had to get my wife to start using Lycamobile in 2024, as well as encouraging other people to use it as well. However, their main problem is the very poor and abysmal customer service and the mobile app which was not so great for a long time - thankfully the mobile app seemed to have been improved upon in the last 1 year. A lot of times, Lycamobile customer service representatives are not very professional and knowledgeable about your problems and specific needs. Sometimes they don't pick up your calls, and at other times they just hang up on you without resolving your problems even after you had waited for close to an hour for your call to be picked up. I had this same experience with a customer service representative last night on 03/20/2025; I don't remember his name but I am sure he's Indian. He couldn't resolve my problem, he misled me and I got charged for a new eSIM, and he hung up on me when he couldn't find answers to my important questions on SIM swap. On the flip side, I had an awesome and amazing experience with another customer service representative - Akira- today. She is the best I have spoken with in my 7 yrs of using Lycamobile. She was professional, kind, empathetic and willing to help. She patiently answered all my questions and helped to resolve my problems by advising me on what to do, as well as escalating the eSIM issue and initiating a refund on the wrongly charged eSIM. Other customer service representatives should learn from Akira; she is a super staff and she deserves accolades.
