Competitive premium...shame about the customer service
They get two stars for a competitive van insurance premium. They lose the other three for the obstacles they create when you want to speak to the right human, or email information to them. Additionally, their casual attitude to customer service is something they need to work on. They charged me an extra premium because of a 'claim' entry on the CUE database, even when I had provided evidence that this claim was cancelled and never needed to be settled (a lost key which was subsequently found). So, I cancelled the whole policy within the 14 day cooling-off period, and before cover began, and went with another insurer with a better Trustpilot score and a slightly cheaper premium. Even so, Autonet charged me £40.00 (admittedly this is stated in their Terms) for cancelling it. It took me half an hour on 'Live chat' to achieve this. Perception is all: as a customer, I was left feeling poorly treated. Now, an interesting response from Autonet which merely restates the situation I described, offers no justification for the extra premium when no claim was settled, and no apology for the time I wasted in contacting them, nor for the semi-literate email response to my submission of evidence regarding the 'claim' (which I hadn't even known about). One to avoid, perhaps, when there are so many other providers from which to choose.
