MSC World Europa
This was our 4th MSC cruise and was our least favourite. What we were unhappy about was: 1. Dinner service in the main dining room was not up to the standard we would expect. We were not shown to our table. My wife’s chair was not pulled out for her. Empty wine glasses were left on the table after new drinks were delivered. Soup bowl was left on the table and only removed when the main course arrived. 2. Pool bar. Unless you are 25 and wearing a bikini you have little chance of being served. I stood there for 15 minutes with about four people in front of me. However at least 3 women came to the bar after me and were served before me. I complained to the barman who just brushed it off. The server who walked around taking orders were excellent. 3. Dolce Vita Bar. Again, the barmen at this bar were poor. I was the only person at the bar and waited 5 minutes to be served whilst the barman stood around joking with each other. Twice I asked to be served. 4. We were delighted to be invited to the Speakeasy bar, however was disappointed to find that we had to pay for drinks even though we were on the Premium + drinks package. 5. SPA Area. We booked 2 x Spa ritual massages and although my massage was excellent and had all the treatments described as part of the massage, my wife did not. The massage was to include a hot stone massage, facial and head massage, all my wife received was a body massage. I took the up with the manager who was not overly helpful and just deducted the 10 euro difference between the two massages. This was not what we had booked and was a treat for my wife who was left very disappointed. What we liked: 1. Cabins were lovely and clean. 2. Entertainment was excellent. 3. Staff in the Masters of the sea, Fizz Champagne bar and the Coffee Shop on the promenade were excellent. 4. Ship was spotless 5. Food was good.
