My week had turned into a disaster…
My week had turned into a disaster after I received an email from P&O saying that my bucket list cruise to see the Northern Lights next March had been cancelled. The cruise was going ahead just without me! Apparently they had no more Evacuation chairs left as they had only received my onboard requirements on Monday! Considering that I booked the cruise direct with their own agents on the day the holidays went live and he filled out everything that I required on that day I just couldn’t understand it. I was devastated, also I had my friends who live in Australia joining us. I now had to break it to them. So that set the scene for my day. I spent all night looking through every cruise company I could think of. It had to be in March/April 2026 as my friend and I are celebrating a landmark birthday and my husband is retiring, so it really was a much looked forward to trip. I could find nothing. The following morning I clicked on a company called Paramount Cruises, I had never heard of it before but I put in my request of what I was looking for. A few moments later I received a call from a charming guy called Robin. I went through my requirements and he said they had 22nd March 2026 ~ just 3 days later ~ going to Norway aboard Canard's Queen Victoria ~ I held my breadth, I hadn’t looked at Cunard as I thought it would be out of our price range ~ but no it wasn’t ~ it was in actual fact a very favourable price, plus one extra night. So a win win. I had gone from being so distraught to absolute euphoria! I checked that there were other cabins for my friends to switch over to, yes they were there. I just needed to speak to my friends but with the time delay I started to get itchy. Within the hour I had called Robin back and booked my accessible cabin. I’d have been heartbroken if I had lost it twice within 24hrs, as there were only 2 left. Robin was so patient with me as due to excitement I had rendered my brain from working, as I kept failing to complete the deposit payment. He kindly said look it’s all booked I’m sure it will be through, sometimes it can take a min or two. Robin you have saved such an important trip for us all, I can’t believe we will have the chance to sail on the majestic Queen Victoria I will certainly look to Cunard in future, even though I have a soft spot for Aurora due to her being an adult only ship, But my go to agency will be Paramount Cruises. Thank you Robin for everything Denise Perkins-Anders.
