I asked for a quote for Ibstock Arundel Yellow bricks. I winced at the cost and after much button pressing the quote was for £1650 per thousand plus VAT. I thought that was eye wateringly expensive - and down the road another trade outlet gave me a quote. Same brick, same manufacturer - not a matched brick but the exact same thing. £538 per thousand plus VAT. How can any company justify blatant profiteering like this? My advice - go somewhere where they don't triple the price! 10% more expensive maybe - but triple!!!! **UPDATE** Thanks for the response - but what you have suggested as a fix doesn't cut it I'm afraid. It demonstrates a culture where you take advantage of people walking in off the street with silly prices. It's not the only time it's happened - and particularly badly with you. I used to get good prices at my local branch without an account because they knew me. Wander off to another branch on a job and they look at the "take the p" price list because they don't. That should tell you that your pricing policy is exploitative. I'm sorry if you can't see it, but unless or until you can value people bringing you cash money then I'll continue to get better value elsewhere. Anywhere!
