Avoid for Cross-Border Moves—Contract Broken and Unauthorized Charges Added
I am writing this to warn anyone moving between Canada and the US. I booked a cross-border move with PODS from Canada to Dallas, TX. I was explicitly promised and contracted a direct shipment to Dallas. Instead, PODS violated our agreement. They secretly rerouted my container to a different city/state near Dallas before final delivery. Even worse, they charged me extra fees for this detour—forcing me to pay for a routing change I never requested or approved. When I called and emailed to dispute these unauthorized overcharges, customer service flat-out refused to honor my original contract price. This is deceptive billing and a clear bait-and-switch. I am highly dissatisfied with the Canadian side of operations and their total lack of billing integrity. My advice: Use a moving company that actually honors its contracts.
