Mitsis Rodos Village Hotel
Travelled to Rhodes with my Husband for our Anniversary, we arrived at Mitsis Rodos Village Hotel at around 10:30 at night both tired from travelling only to be told by the receptionist that they had an electrical fault and we have been moved to a different hotel but because of the inconvenience we had been upgraded. I was unhappy and said that i wanted to stay here as this is what i have booked. I was told that if in the morning i could speak to the Hotel manager, reluctantly i agreed but i also said if we do not come back will you make sure that you rearranged our return transfer and we were told yes, We were then told to wait in reception, whilst we stood watching all the other guests that we arrived with being checked in. We finally got a taxi driver to show us to his mini bus, which in my opinion was not road legal but we got in as just wanted to go to bed. We were taken to a Hotel 10 minutes down the road only to be told by the receptionist that we were not booked in. The taxi driver was on the phone (i assume to the Mitsis hotel) by this point i was upset and crying, my Husband stepped in and said to the driver just take us back to Mitsis and we will sort it out. So we got back into this mini bus, i said this isn’t the way we come and he said it is. The driver was struggling to drive as he could not see in the dark, i was petrified that we would crash. We then were taken to another hotel after a 20mins drive by this time it was after midnight. We were shown to our room which was dated and no way near the standard of what i had booked. I called the Mitsis hotel and i was told that i would need to call in the morning. I called in the morning only to be told that the Hotel manager is not available and they will call me back. Meanwhile we spoke to an agent that lives and works in Lindos and we were told that one of there sister hotels had gone into liquidation Mitsis Memories and they were honouring all there booking and guests that had booked direct with them. I never managed to speak with the Hotel manager at Mitis, but as our room was so poor we chose to upgrade at our cost to a better room. We also never managed to get our transfer changed i spent what seemed like hours daily on the phone to try and sort the mess out. No one ever called me back even though they promised. We ended up paying for a private taxi back to the Airport. What a horrible experience from the start.
