African Overland - Forced to Leave Tour

If you have been subjected to negative social engineering by Intrepid Travel Crew, lack of Fair Process by Intrepid remote staff, or intimidation from their legal team, please know you are not alone. Remember: -The basic rights covered by consumer guarantees can’t be taken away by anything a business says or does. Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (CCA) -The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) of Au Chapter 12: APP 12 Access to Personal Information, gives you the right to request a copy of their ‘Investigations’. Under Australian Law Intrepid do not have the right to complete an investigation in secrecy and then tell you 'the matter is closed’. You have the right to see the investigation and you have consumer rights to fairness under Australian Law. I was forced off a tour as I inadvertently upset the chef over breakfast one morning. I was advised of the staff grievance 2 weeks after the incident. The staff grievance session was held late at night, in a remote location with absolutely no contact with the outside world and no 3rd party witness. I apologised profusely, but the chef would not accept my apology. He made it clear I should not be on the tour. My early departure & the terms of departure were discussed & agreed with the guide. I requested a copy of the Intrepid internal investigation over the incident. Their 'investigation' confirmed that their staff lied. Their internal process amounted to little more than a few emails trying to find a reason to throw me off the tour. They couldn't find a reason for removing me - so they told me I left voluntarily. Perhaps even more worryingly, dont assume that Intrepid staff uphold concepts of 'consent' on tour. I asked to be removed from an overbearing older man who did not respect my physical space (unwanted physical contact) and the (all male) crew simply laughed at my discomfort (behind my back - as reported by another traveler).
