Deceiving Company: Fraudulent
On April 6, 2025, I purchased a Groupon promotion for tirzepatide injections (Cosmetics RX), valued at $96.00. The terms of this promotion stipulated that I was only responsible for a $29.99 shipping fee for the medication. On May 16, 2025, I proceeded to redeem the promotional code and complete my order. During this transaction, the only charge displayed and confirmed to me was the $29.99 prescription shipping fee. However, upon reviewing my bank statement, I discovered an unauthorized charge of $299.00 from your company. When I contacted your customer service, I was informed that the promotional code had supposedly not been applied during the transaction. This explanation is demonstrably false, as I would have immediately noticed a $299.00 charge if it had been presented to me at the time of purchase. My bank statement clearly shows an initial charge for the correct shipping fee, followed by the erroneous $299.00. Furthermore, during a subsequent phone call, an agent informed me that my Groupon promotion could no longer be honored because I was now considered an "existing customer." This is a circular and unacceptable argument. I became an "existing customer" solely as a result of attempting to redeem this specific promotional code and resolve the initial processing error. Your company is attempting to invalidate a valid promotion based on an issue that arose directly from your system's failure to process the initial transaction correctly. This constitutes a breach of the promotional terms and deceptive billing practices. I have already initiated a complaint with Groupon. I demand a full refund of the unauthorized $299.00 charge. If this matter is not resolved promptly and to my satisfaction, I will proceed with formal complaints to all relevant consumer protection agencies, including the Better Business Bureau, and will explore all available legal remedies.
