My dog had a lump removed this year off…

My dog had a lump removed this year off his leg. Due to certain issues with how insurance claims work I cancelled the insurance. Someone in my family had a serious incident due to her dog swimming in a river, which meant she had to used the out of hours service but it cost a fortune. I decided to reinsure my dog because he also likes swimming. Later on this year he had another lump removed from his groin area. Different kind of lump which turned out to be a fatty lump. However because they are both lumps, it’s classed as a pre. Existing condition! I am blown away by this and I am in the process of making a complaint. So it looks like any lumps he now has removed will now be classed as pre-existing, in nine years I have only ever claimed for two lumps. So I’m insured “just incase” and the operation cost £550 out of that my excess was £159 and the 20% co payment means I would have only received £282! I’m asking myself if it’s worth bothering with insurance
