The “extreme” experience is NOT for most people
Did the “extreme” experience, not realizing exactly what I was getting into. The waiver did warn about uncomfortable situations and violent touching, but I assumed I wasn’t going to be actually physically assaulted. And because other haunted houses I’ve been to in the past have never been violent. But Dystopia felt like abuse. Here is a partial list of what happened: -slapped hard in the face -simulated suffocation (you feel like you are really being suffocated) -my jaw forced open and a real insect forcibly put into my mouth. I tried to get away but he would NOT let go of my jaw, it really hurt, and it still hurts 2 days later -electric shocks -my mouth forced open AGAIN this time for a large amount of chili oil(?). Nearly vomited, I said “I am not ok”, and the actors kept pushing me around and screaming at me for a few more rooms. I don’t remember exactly what was happening because I was trying so hard not to vomit. -waterboarding -not given the option to stop the experience. We were warned about this from the beginning, however, it makes absolutely no sense to tell people they can’t leave when paying guest thinks they are doing a haunted house, not a 45-minute torture session. I honestly didn’t know any of the things I listed above are legal.
