Great itinerary, HORRIBLE hotel placements
The itinerary was great and the sites scheduled were perfect. Got a lot done in just two weeks which I was fine with. I will say though that this entire trip was a huge disappointment with hotel arrangements. It was scathing hot in June and EF set us up in most hotels with no AC. The hotels were always located AT LEAST an hour or more to daily destinations and I can imagine this was done to save money but it made the day to day trips miserable. The hotels were sparsely supplied (like think sheets only on the beds, 1 towel available, no convenient snack shops nearby). The first hotel was an hour walk to the nearest store to get water. Imagine doing that after walking for 14 hours at the destination. Hotel staff were generally rude. When we got to a hotel with AC (thank god), there were no blankets. In one case, the hotel to spend time in Nice and Monaco was over an hour away and unfortunately there was an accident that shut down the freeway. We spent 7.5 hours on a bus with 29 kids and teenagers with no restroom to go 45 miles. Missed our trip to Monaco since we lost so much time. I 100% would not recommend this trip due mainly to the poor hotel planning. It made the day to day trips miserable. Plan to nap a lot in the bus.
