Provider Amethyst Maxey
Amethyst Maxey had excellent reviews about her bedside manner. I was excited to see if she could help me and my debilitating anxiety in my search for better help than I am currently receiving. Instead, she accused me of intentionally lying to her about my medication history and criticized me for something that, according to her I should know because I am a pre-licensed counselor. Furthermore, when asked how much I drink, I responded not very often but I have been drinking more due to my anxiety, 1 drink a night, as of late. After this, she accused me of slurring my words and asked me if I was drunk right at that moment. I was shocked and horrified at her conduct and, more importantly lack of empathy towards a person struggling. I was even more stunned when she said I probably have Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia and should see someone else. Trying to diagnose someone within less than 20 minutes of conversation is unethical. I would not recommend Amythest Maxey or Klarity Health to anyone. I left my appointment feeling more embarrassed and unstable than when I went in. This is not how mental health providers should operate.
