Roberto Soldatich Manager, RE Room 129 18th September 2022
Hi Roberto, THIS IS A TRUE STORY Re Barbara Millington (BM) who has the big C aged 72 & Gill Lewis who has Fibromyalgia aged 62 Room 129 on Sunday 18th Septmber 2022. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me on picking up these two ladies from the Clayton Hotel as I explained their return time was originally 01:50 but due to issues with Ryanair Airplane they had to provide an alternative airplane, an old one that had no drinks or food onboard to purchase, they had not eaten since Breakfast before leaving for departure but that’s not your issue & I am not able to drive at night with Glaucoma, Hense they stayed at the Clayton. Cost £176:00 I sat down with these ladies and let them explain in their own words if you can take the time to read through, on coming through customs BM rang the hotel to ask for the bus & were told you are at Terminal 3 flying Ryanair & should walk outside & go to bus stop “D” as they walked outside a sign indicated Terminal 1 & No bus stops. BM rang the hotel again but he just kept saying we were at Terminal 3 & we should look, then the phone went dead, they went outside again but still could not see any bus stops but saw an arrow pointing to Terminal 3, so BM rang again & was told to follow it to terminal 3 which they did dragging their luggage at which time it was 5am & finally reached a car park completely lost & very scared so BM rang the hotel again, BM was told to look around & tell him what signs I saw, I told him & he said Oh you’re only across the road from us just walk around the roundabouts & you will be here & put the phone down on me. I was not sure how to get round the roundabouts but caught sight of a Policeman who was disgusted but showed us how to get to the Hotel, by the time we had lugged our cases 7 hand luggage we were exhausted 7 in great pain. We were given keys & directions to our room no offer of help with luggage, it took a while to find the room as the numbering was all over the place. We had a couple of Hrs sleep then went to have breakfast hungry as it had been 20hrs since last eaten but after paying £176 we assumed breakfast was included, how wrong we were we had to pay over £33 before we were allowed in, obviously we must have been the last as what was left was diabolical the bacon was overcooked & rubbery as was the tiny bit of scrambled egg which was not enough for two people, but it was all cold the only good thing was the coffee & toast which we made ourselves & after trying to eat it which we wouldn’t have but for being so hungry so we decided pastries we saw earlier but when we went back they’d all gone so we asked a member of staff who went & found 2pastries & said these had been taken to give the staff !!!, to be fair the pastries were very nice. All in all we were disgusted with this prestigious hotel & the way we were treated by the staff. This hotel was booked as a treat after flying back late as Mr Grove who spoke to you was not allowed to drive in the dark. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.
