Borneo Through Audley Travel
Last year we booked a holiday through Audley to western Canada. I would normally arrange such a holiday myself but there were many moving parts and identifying and booking the accommodation we wanted at the times we wanted was proving difficult. On a family member’s advice we tried Audley. The subsequent trip was a resounding success and most enjoyable. Audley’s setup is very client-friendly and their organisation was flawless. This year we decided to visit Borneo. Malaysia is an area we have never been to and were unfamiliar with. So we turned again to Audley. There is no doubt that using Audley adds a significant premium to the cost of a holiday but, in our view, each time has been totally worth the additional outlay. It’s worth noting though that we did save some money by arranging the long-haul flights ourselves. Our country specialist was Charlotte Callin. She clearly knew the area very well and the itinerary she helped us put together through a number of chats, emails and video calls was exactly what we wanted. Overall, the trip was well-organised and fully met our expectations. All arrangements and transfers went smoothly. The accommodation was as described and very comfortable (air-conditioning was a must). The documents provided were comprehensive and the Audley app, which contained the details of our itinerary and other useful information, was extremely helpful. Each of our various guides was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his subject; without their input, the trip would have been considerably less enjoyable. Even the drivers to and from the Danum valley knew their birds and other wildlife. And, in all phases of our holiday Charlotte Callin’s advice and tips were spot on and contributed much to our overall fun.
