AWFUL experience. AVOID!!
AWFUL customer service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They take your money and then don’t care if something goes wrong. Me and my boyfriend rented a Jucy car for 6 weeks to travel the east coast of Australia. Sydney to Cairns. This hire was NOT cheap. It cost us $4,700 for 6 weeks. The fridge in the van was broken for the entire trip despite multiple attempts on our behalf to try and get the fridge fixed which ruined our experience. We spent roughly a week in total of our trip taking the car to mechanics trying to fix the issue advised by JUCY and the rest of the trip trying to get hold of JUCY. We spent $2000 dollars extra having to stay in campsites with a fridge when we were originally going to free camp. We were then told by Jucy ‘please send us the receipts of your campsites and we will refund them’ (I have proof from a voice message) and then they refused to refund any campsites whatsoever?? Every time you try and reach Jucy, you go to an answerphone person who cannot deal with any requests. They then tell you someone will ring back which is NEVER the case. I Waited a week and rang back another 5 times and still didn’t get to speak to anyone. In total I just have rang JUCY about 25 times in the 6 week trip. Also, the answerphone person used the excuse of ‘that’s Jucy for you’ when I complained to why I wasn’t getting a phone call back. This whole issue with the fridge ruined our experience of our East Coast roadtrip and has resulted in an enormous increase in expenses for the following reasons: 1. We had to pay a huge amount on campsites, to be able to have a camp kitchen with a working fridge for our food and drink items to go in the fridge. This has resulted in an overall cost of roughly $2100 which we would not have occurred if we free camped like our original plan if we had a fridge. All these receipts have been emailed already to your operations team 2. We originally wasted so much food due to thinking the fridge was going to get cold, which it never did. 3. We spent our whole trip having to eat and drink out due to not having a fridge which resulted in us spending a lot more money than we would have 4. We have had to leave the car running when we were at campsites to charge the battery to cool down the fridge, which resulted in wasting fuel 5. Spending a prolonged amount of nights at destinations we didn’t want to spend longer at, in order to get the fridge working This whole situation had caused a huge amount of stress and troubles for us which we originally thought would be a quick fix. The whole trip, we have been phoning Jucy and constantly trying to solve the issues. There’s not been a single day where we haven’t thought about it and tried to resolve the issue. It really has not been the trip we imagined having, it has ruined our experience completely and quite frankly made us very upset. I really am not one to complain and write negative reviews but I want to warn others NOT to book with this company!
