Hidden Fees and Terrible Exchange Rates – Booster Is a Trap
I’ve been using Nexo for a while and decided to try their Booster feature. Big mistake. On August 1st, 2025, I used Booster to buy BTC using USDC. The platform applied an exchange rate of 1 BTC = 115,740.74 USDC, while the real market price at that exact moment (Binance) was around 113,950 USDT. That’s a spread of over $1,750 per BTC, before the separate 2% “Booster fee”. When I raised the issue, support responded with a robotic message saying that “I accepted the confirmation screen” and sent me a link to their FAQ, instead of addressing the core issue. They completely ignored the fact that the rate was way off-market and caused massive hidden costs. To break even, I would need to sell that BTC at over $121,000, which is absurd. No refund, no adjustment, no transparency. Just a copy-paste response and a polite “too bad”. ⚠️ If you care about fair exchange rates or using leverage responsibly, avoid Nexo Booster at all costs. It’s a black box with predatory pricing hidden behind slick interfaces. Nexo is not trustworthy. I’m moving my funds elsewhere.
