Badly organised and visa issue
Airline check-in didn’t open 3 hours before the flight at 9:30am so we had to wait around for an hour. Not ideal when travelling with an elderly person. When it did open around 7:30am it wasn’t clear where to go. Had to ask someone as there was no gate number on the board. Check-in was traumatic as the staff wouldn't accept mum’s Turkish visa. Told us to apply for another one within 35 minutes otherwise mum wouldn’t be able to travel. We had to apply on our phone and pay another $50. There were connectivity issues making it difficult but between me and my husband we just about managed to get the new Turkish visa with one minute left. In our opinion there was nothing wrong with our first visa. The check-in staff need training on UK evisa status and how to use share codes. They made us apply for a new visa using the expiry date of the share code when it should have been the expiry date of mums UK evisa. However they wouldn’t listen. The boarding pass had the wrong flight time on it. The wheelchair assistance got us through security quickly but there was no time for anything else before the flight. We usually have a hot breakfast but there was no time. The flight was fine but we were stressed out even before the holiday had started.
