Italy france trip with students 14 June-26 June 2016
The majority of the trip was fabulous. It was a whirl wind tour even though it was 14 days in length. Terryl (sp) from Israel was certainly very knowledgeable and kept the group motivated and moving. Bumps along the way included, joining with another group that we were not informed of prior to the trip. Because of the differences in group structures, rooming was unequal both person and most significantly financially. No one in either group was in a triple room but I was charged an additional $800. to book a double for my daughter. A luxury it seems all others received without that added cost. The meals along the trip, while I understand the need to keep the cost contained were certainly not up to most European expectations. There was more chicken and rice served in Italy than I have ever seen. I realize it's a cheap filler but I would not want students from there to come to the US and experience bread and potatoes as what all Americans eat daily. All hotels were located in central locals with good transportation nearby. The tours of some high end local shops was a challenge to these kids on a budget and took up chunks of time otherwise used for other activities. the glass blowing demonstration in Venice was good but there wasn't a single thing in that shop for any of these students to reasonably purchase. The overall trip was an experience of a lifetime for most (if not all) of these students. I would still highly recommend the experience.
