Dreadful Machines. NCP cash Cow
On June 11th my wife and I treated our granddaughter and grandson for dinner in Southport. Although being the nearest car park to the restaurant I reluctantly parked in the NCP London Street. I say reluctantly because it does have a bad reputation. I have parked there in the past without any problems. I parked the car, we had a pleasant meal. We went back to the car park. I went to the payment machine. I paid the amount as indicated on the machine. Weeks later I receive a letter dated 30th June saying I didn’t pay the correct amount and wanting me to pay £60 or £100. I have appealed to NCP but without success. I truly believe I paid the correct amount. All other car parks I have used in the past you either park and display or pay the amount indicated on the payment machine. I have always in the past paid the correct payment and in the case of the multi storey in Southport I joined Hozah automatic payment scheme when their machines were out of order rather than take the chance I wouldn’t have to pay. I feel that in the case of this NCP car park that it is set up to catch the unaware or people who may need reading glasses to read the small print as a cash cow.
