Why I was at fault for their cockup

Why I was at fault for their cockup I received a letter allegedly telling me that I would no longer be getting a "controlled load tariff". I say allegedly because the letter did not actually tell me this fact. That was explained using a table that simply removed the controlled load tariff and didn't mention what was going to happen to the cost of that.( it worked out that the cost of controlled tariff would now be anytime rate at twice the price 18.282 cents/kwh to 36.949 cents / kwh. When i rang to ask what my next bill would be like I was told that there would be no change whatsoever and as their customer service section was being upgraded I would have to call back 4 days later to get a better deal. I rang back was lied to ( we had to change things because you have a smart metre, I don't) was told they didn't understand why I was told things wouldn't change and that I would be put through to someone that could give me the best possible deal. I also asked why the letter they sent was sent 7 days after the change to my billing happened( changed 1/4/22 letter written 8/4/22 received in mail 21/4/22) I also asked why I was lied to and that I wanted to get some answers. Told supervisor would ring back as soon as they finished the call they were on. They didn't ring back. I rang 3.5 hrs later and was told I could have the number for the complaints department, I said I would wait while they transferred me, I was then told that everyone had left and there was no one to talk to. Long story short 2 days later I received the final call from them telling me that the people that had lied were being retrained, that I wasn't supposed to have go the letter in the first place and that they wished to offer $100 compensation which I said wasn't much compensation for all the bother they put me through for no reason so they gave me $150 instead. In general the service is terrible and the way they lie and make things up is immoral. My account was $850 in credit for what is usually around $400 bill. The only time I contact them is when they're doing something wrong. They have paid me compensation 3 times now, I think that goes quite a way to show Im not making this stuff up but that it is their on going business practice to lie cheat and deceive.
