Used to be good...
I’ve been using EatStreet for years and never had any issues, but recently have had two very negative experiences and have deleted the app altogether. First, I ordered a deep dish pizza from a local Chicago style restaurant. The ETA was 45 minutes and about 45 minutes into me waiting for my food the ETA changed to a total of an hour and 45 minutes. I reached out to customer service to see what was taking so long and they said they’d look into and that the order would be arriving at the new arrival time of an hour and 45 minutes later. They gave me no explanation for why it took over twice as long as originally estimated and did not offer anything for my inconvenience. Secondly and much more frustrating was the most recent issue. My girlfriend placed an order and was given an ETA of an hour and 10 minutes. We live just 10 minutes from this particular restaurant so we thought we’d just cancel the order and go to the restaurant ourselves to save the wait. NOPE! When talking with customer service they said we can not cancel the order because the driver is already on the way to the store.... so please explain that one to me EatStreet. Why is the driver already on their way to the restaurant if the food allegedly won’t be ready for another hour?? So apparently it’s impossible to cancel your order even seconds after placing it when it won’t even be picked up for roughly an hour. I’m strongly disappointed in the blatant lack of customer service and will not be wasting my money on this service ever again.
