Beware the dreaded auto subscription
Signed up to Freeletics with the best of intentions last January using an offer code. The app is decent but ultimately I decided to go back to a gym and ultimately forgot all about the app. Woke up this morning to a PayPal notification confirming £95 was to be debited from my account. Got straight on to Freeletics support but was basically told that while they have cancelled the auto renewal moving forward, they will still take payment for the next 12 months as I hadn't cancelled in time. I would recommend the App but not the business practices behind it. Based on other reviews on here, I'm not the first to get stung by the lack of notification re the impending auto renewal and probably won't be the last. Poor and whilst the lack of notification is probably not illegal, it certainly feels unethical. Consumers should be given the choice to renew not have the onus placed on them to remember.
