Incompetent and insensitive. Avoid!
Great at taking your money, terrible at giving it back! My mother recently passed away and in managing her estate we unfortunately had to contact Secure Trust to recover her savings. We have found them insensitive, unhelpful and incompetent. To close my mothers accounts we naturally had to pass security so provided proof of probate and proof of our identity but that wasn't enough. We then had to get confirmation of our identity signed off by someone in a professional role (like applying for a passport) or pay £50 for Joe Bloggs at the Post Office who's never met us before to sign it off (that makes complete sense, not!). Naturally we chose the former option and got it signed off by people we know in professional occupations and yet they STILL refused to pay out the funds because... wait for it.... because they couldn't verify the identity of the signatories on Google or Linkedin! What the actual heck?!?!?!? Like thats a legitimate way to verify the identity of someone! We're now in the process of raising a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman and would strongly recommend that people avoid this "bank" at all costs!
