Horror Show
We rented a car under the name Mary Scally. Unfortunately it broke down after we put diesel in the car which needed petrol but the manual in the car had specified it was a diesel engine. The car was taken by tow truck the day after and the following they promised us a rental car for 2 days only but we would have to drive it 1.5 hours to a destination we weren't going to. There is 12 days left on the booking at this point. Today, rent a car sent a taxi to us to argeles to bring us to perpignan to pick up the 2 day car. When we arrived at the desk, Rent-a-car said there was no new booking after all and we had to make our own way back to perpignan. We are now stuck in perpignan waiting for a bus as the train was cancelled as the taxi refused to bring us back to argeles with no car after wasting 3 days of our holiday so far. We have also lost our on accomodation charges and there has been no mention of a refund so far. The word 'disappointing' does not begin to cover it. We have been left to rely on the kindness of friends and neighbours to get anywhere and and sleep overnight without adding even further costs to this holiday. Each customer service agent has passed us from one person to the next so they don't have to deal with us, even though some have seemed helpful at the time. Horrible, horrible experience which is still a developing nightmare. Stay tuned...
