Allowed OVO to falsify meter readings!
When I bought my house OVO were sent pictures of the electricity meter showing day and night readings on entry, but OVO responded by deliberately falsifying the nighttime meter readings and ultimately sent us a £5,000 bill for roughly one weeks electricity; this was not a mistake, they deliberately truncated the starting 5 digit night reading to 4 digits, despite the fact I told them it was wrong to do so. It took weeks to get them to try again and eventually they responded by falsifying the meter readings a second time and charging me for £75 worth of electricity that was used by the previous owners. The Energy Ombudsman responded to this situation by allowing OVO to keep the £75 and didn't require OVO to correct the bills. Ensuring that bills are correct is a fundamental duty of an Energy Ombudsman, but they aren't interested. At one point OVO offered me £10 to make up for the £75 fraudulent charge, yes that's absolutely true, the Energy Ombudsman knew about this but did NOTHING. Though, once the Ombudsman was involved OVO changed their tune and offered £200 'goodwill', but by this time I had spend about 65 hours of my life fighting for justice, so to my mind £200 for 65 lost hours is pathetic and I should have been paid for 65 hours at minimum wage and then paid back the £75 + compensation for stress etc. The Energy Ombudsman simply chose to give OVO an easy ride, described by their staff as 'balance', how is allowing incorrect bills and falsified meter readings to stand 'balance'?... In my opinion the Energy Ombudsman is a complete waste of space and heavily biased towards the energy company. All please bear this testimony in mind before wasting your life by contacting them.
