I am writing this review out of sheer frustration because Instagram’s support system is completely useless when it comes to helping users regain access to hacked accounts. My account (name omitted for privacy) was hacked, and the hacker changed the email address linked to it. The worst part? I never received any email from Instagram allowing me to confirm or deny this change. Now, my account is in the hands of someone else, who is actively posting scam content in my name. I have tried every single option available through Instagram’s help center, from password resets to reporting the issue multiple times. Every time, I either receive no response or get automated messages that do absolutely nothing to resolve my problem. At this point, I am completely locked out of my own account while Instagram lets the hacker continue using it without any intervention. The fact that a multi-billion-dollar company cannot provide real customer support for critical security issues is beyond unacceptable. There is no way to contact a real person, no escalation process, and no transparency in how (or if) they handle these cases. It is incredibly frustrating that Instagram prioritizes its business interests over user security, leaving people completely helpless when they fall victim to hacking. If you ever lose access to your account, don’t expect Instagram to care or assist you in any meaningful way. Their so-called “support” is nothing more than an automated loop that leads nowhere. If anyone is considering using Instagram for anything important, be warned: if something goes wrong, you’re on your own.
