musictoday.com essentially takes interest on your money it holds and then burns you for not paying extra to ensure their poor service
Here is an email I sent to Ben Harper's website because of my horrible experience with MusicToday.com I've been trying to resolve an issue with the ticketing agency that you worked with for your performance September 4, 2012 at Wolf Trap in Virginia. I purchased tickets from them through your website and thought I would share with you my horrible experience with them. I purchased tickets back in March using the code I received as a subscriber to Benharper.com. However, the company stated that they would not send tickets out until 2 weeks prior to the concert. I thought this was strange, but thought it wouldn't matter anyway. Well, a lot of things changed in the 6 months between when I bought the tickets and when I was supposed to see one of my favorite artists perform. I was homeless for the months leading to September but then got a job that required me to travel and subsequently miss the show for which I had purchased 4 tickets to see with friends. The problem is this. I tried ot reach out to the folks at MusicToday.com and they basically told me they couldn't budge on their policy to send tickets out two weeks prior. Typically, other ticket services would provide an e-ticket option given the circumstances, I was a bit frustrated that they were so unaccommodating. So, I provided the address of one of my friends with hopes that the tickets would arrive there and, at the very least, they could take the tickets and still go. Nothing came in the mail. As was their stated policy, you are to call 3 days before the concert date if you hadn't received the tickets yet. I tried, but being that the concert was the day after labor day, the call center was closed. I tried to protest the charge on my credit card, but they said since I didn't pay extra for certified mail, they were not responsible for the delivery of the tickets. I'm telling you this because that ticket organization, basically did not provide me anyway of working with the circumstances I faced this past half-year. I have followed Ben for the past decade and will continue to follow him, his spirit, and his message. That said, it makes me sad that this ticketing service does not share the same spirit and integrity that I would have tried to encourage the community around Ben's music, instead of blocking it. I hope in the future, as a result of these dishonorable practices, that you reconsider working with this organization musictoday.com. It was disappointing enough that I had to miss Ben's performance, but I also am now short $176.10.
