Overcharged £54.75 for fuel
I picked up the rental car from Budget (Dublin Airport) on 20/052023, when I was about to drive away I noticed the the fuel gauge was showing only 4/8 or half full, I took photos of this and proceeded thinking that the photo would be evidence when I returned in the evening. When I returned the car the attendant who processed the return had logged that I had used 3/8 of a tank of fuel, he asked if I had prove, I showed him the photo he said that he would correct the invoice and that there was no need to speak to anyone else. The invoice clearly stated that I was charged £53.75 for fuel after I returned the hire car, or 3/8 of a tank. I returned the car with the tank 5/8 full which was more than the 4/8 that the full gauge indicated when I returned, the charge showed up on my credit card statement a month later. Judged on other review's this is a common occurrence when dealing with this car rental company. I have used the company before and was generally happy with the service. The number of negative reviews recently make me not want to continue using Budget. I sent a request to webteam@budget for a refund on 21/06/2023 but I got no reply. I would like to warn anybody who intends to use this company to check the fuel gauge and not drive away if the gauge is not indicating full, also NOT to trust the word of the attendant on return as there might be an incentive for them to report false gauge levels. BE CAREFULL
