Living with COPD is new to me
Living with COPD is new to me. The hospital offered therapy but their office was so far away there was no way to get to it without a wheelchair. There was no way to get to the therapy without bothering a friend. This was not something that could be done. I went without. I was lucky enough to have a group of people who have COPD. One had been on the Cardahealth program and was impressed. She was thrilled with her new ability to maintain a longer breathing capacity while doing actions that previously had her breathless. I questioned her and found out how to get started. The idea of doing therapy online with a therapist right there at home is probably the best idea for those of us with our lungs making mobility hard. It is not difficult to use the online process. I was extremely lucky to get Melissa as my therapist. She is the most knowledgeable and caring person in a position of teaching us how to be healthier and have better breathing skills. She walks me thru the online workouts. It is great to know there is someone who is in the background watching your vitals. She is absolutely outstanding. With Melissa and the online classes I am learning how to make better decisions when it comes to breathing and lifestyle changes. I highly recommend this program. Many Part C Medicare plans cover the online classes with a 0 $ co pay. A great thing! Give it a try, you may start to feel better. I am. I am looking forward to future improvement. If you are lucky you may get Melissa as your coach/ therapist. PS: Date of experience is today, but this is a program that goes for weeks, 2 or 3 times a week with the same therapist that knows your "normal".
