Never do business with this company

Word of advice: don't use Travelocity to book airline travel. I used Travelocity earlier this year to book airfare, and later needed to change the trip. When I booked, I was told that the fares would have no change fees. When I cancelled, I was told I would be issued credits that could be used for travel in the future. And it is here where Travelocity starts playing games. It turns out that when Travelocity issues you airline credits, these credits can only be used on "credit eligible" flights in the future. That seems reasonable. Except, there are *NO* credit eligible flights available in the Travelocity system. I have tried using these credits for every conceivable destination at different times of the year, and I always get the same result: no credit eligible flights. Now I ask you this: what is the functional difference between a credit you cannot use and no credit at all? If you said "none", then we are in agreement. To make matters worse, Travelocity's customer service is virtually non-existent. Wait times for an agent are well over an hour and when you finally get to your place in the queue, then their systems don't work properly and just hang up on you. Contact them online? Nope - no answer. Feedback on Facebook? Thus far useless - they just delete the comments. This feels like a giant scam that allows Travelocity to basically just pocket the fares. This is utterly outrageous. Big companies like Travelocity appear to me to be profiteering off of situations like this; they make it impossible to use these credits, and they make it impossible to contact anyone in order to get assistance. The lesson I will follow, and which I will encourage every one of my friends and colleagues to follow is this: never use Travelocity for *anything*.
