As close to a fraudulent company as there is
My wife booked a flight for me from LGA New York to TYS Knoxville on April 18th. The flight was to take place on April 30. She thought she was booking on the American Airlines website and somehow ended up on ESKY.com. On April 22 her mother passed away and we needed to cancel travel plans including this flight. On Friday April 26 she called Esky to request cancellation and a refund due to bereavement and was told we needed to provide a death certificate. As we waited for the death certificate to be made available, she reached out to Esky everyday to let them know we were waiting for for it and would provide it as soon as we got it. On each call she asked for her assigned representative and was told he wasn't available. ( he said his name was "Herman" but could barely speak English). Today April 30 we were finally able to get the death certificate. We magically got through to "Herman" on the phone and he had us to both text and email a picture of it to him. In less than 20 minutes he texted back to say "I regret to inform you that your flight has already been cancelled". When I texted back to ask what exactly what that meant, of course there was no reply. Back on the phone to "Herman" and he said he didn't know who cancelled it and there would be no refund as it was and Economy Class ticket and as such was not refundable and my wife should have paid more attention to what she booked. He could have told her that on day one instead of telling her to provide a death certificate and then stringing her along while she was dealing with everything else that goes along with the death of a parent. I unashamedly admit I ranted at him for what he put my wife through until he hung up. We are now working with our credit card company to pursue a fraudulent charge case against ESKY
