Poor service and installation.
A member of Morrison Data Services came to install a Gas smart meter on behalf of EDF. He was very abrupt to the point of being rude. We were told that the installation would take around an hour, but he was here for two hours. After half an hour told us WE had a problem, he said there was no signal on the network. I asked if he meant our WiFi but he said no there was no signal on his network. So obviously HE had the problem not us. He eventually got his signal back but about an hour later he told us he had detected a gas leak and it must be in our boiler? We told him it was less than two years old and had been serviced less than six months ago. We quickly phoned the Gas engineer who installed and serviced our boiler, he told the fitter all he had to do was flick the bright yellow switch under the boiler to isolate it which would prove if the leak was coming from the boiler. The fitter very abruptly said no I cannot do that and gave the phone back to us. I guess from experience our Gas engineer told us to phone him back when the fitter had finished. Funnily enough within half an hour the fitter came to us and told us the meter was installed and commissioned. He quickly showed us a in-home display gadget and its brochure then almost ran to the door. As he was half out of the door we asked about the gas leak to which he replied you still need to get that checked. Our Gas engineer came, checked everything but found no leak? he told us he thought it was a messy installation with crooked bits of chipboard and wondered why the fitter had taken out the original meter mounting plate but then left the brackets sticking out. Very poor service indeed.
