Tangiers Airport… Avoid
Zero fuel in the tank upon collection so worried it wouldn’t even make it to a petrol filling station, you would expect at least a quarter of a tank and bearing in mind you’ve just arrived in the country and not changed any currency yet, brakes were squeaking on route to destination so felt like the front brake pads were worn, got a mechanic to investigate the following day and found the pads were worn to the metal, when calling the company they expected us to drive the 100km back to Tangiers to get the brakes replaced when the car wasn’t fit to be on the road in the first place. We paid the bill with the promise we would be reimbursed when de-hiring but unbelievably the guy from Autounion was arguing the labour cost with the garage over a few Dirhams, they also tried saying the car was our responsibility as we had signed for it!! We signed for receiving the car and agreeing to hire in the condition we can see not for the lack of maintenance we couldn’t see. When returning the car we we’re only partially reimbursed for the pads as he didn’t have the correct money. On the whole this is the second I’ve used them, they are the cheapest but there’s a reason for it, I won’t be using them again will just pay the extra with Avis or Hertz instead of risking my kids lives.
