Like a dill…….I didn’t buy local.
Like a dill, I thought I’d purchase a ‘2-in-1 Lightweight Wheelchair & Walker’ from an online company on 14Jan’05, for a better price than my local Hospital In The Home medical equipment retailer. How wrong I was to trust this mob. The product arrived the next day via courier, in its original unassembled ‘From China’ packaging. Great service from the warehouse staff and courier company, but not so much with the Customer Service. I knocked it up myself because the instruction sheet was as clear as mud and about as useful as t*ts on a bull, or a hip-pocket in a singlet. The securing bolts holding the handles to the frame were loose and one handbrake lever securing bolt was missing a nut. I emailed that mob and their generic reply ‘we’ll sort it out within 1-2 business days…..’ yeah, watch out for the bull crap because there’s heaps around. It’s been over a week. I won’t hold my breath. Rest assured I won’t be dealing with this mob again. No such thing as Quality Control with that manufacturer. I’ve sent several emails but all I got was the automated generic response. I wouldn’t mind so much if the nut-and-bolt setup was run-of-the-mill, but these fasteners are unique. How hard would it be for them to grab a nut and post it so I could fix their manufacturer’s lack of Quality Control. Yeah, I know, ya get what ya pay for. Support your local businesses. Update….25January2025. I just received a Follow-Up questionnaire, giving me the option of 1 to 5 stars. Have that automated email the 1-star (out of 5) treatment and submitted a comprehensive narrative via their ‘Contact Us’ link. Guess what, no personal response, only that automated response about their 1-2 day reply. I did get, however, a cartoon image of someone running, indicating that my 1-star response had started a positive response. Yeah, sure. Not holding my breath. Watch this space for the next chapter. (All because of the lack of quality control at the point of manufacture, or ‘you get what you pay for’, pay peanuts and you get……… .)
