General and Medical are dishonest and are to be avoided at all cost.
When they are taking your money, there is no problem, but when I made a claim, theu refused to pay. General and Medical were dishonest and avoided paying out, despite me having been with them for years and this being my first claim. In my case they issued me a letter informing me I could go ahead with the consultation and procedure having checked it with the underwriters, yet the day after I had the procedure they phoned me to state they would not ne covering the cost of the procedure as the underwriters said they would not cover it, despite them given me a letter a few days prior giving me the go ahead. They avoided acknowledging their error even when I emailed them the copy of the letter they had sent me giving me the go ahead. I can honestly see why people have a distrust of insurance companies. Left me to pay the medical cost of £1,700. I cancelled my policy and with a better company now. I have and will continue telling all I speak to of my experience with them. It is also true of their rude customer service staffs who refuse to let the caller speak to someone in a senior position.
