Pickup was never made, Cost me $$$

I scheduled a next-day pickup for a time-sensitive shipment. I needed to get the shipment out ASAP to avoid being hit with high storage fees from my warehouse. On Freightera’s site, the search results showed a limited time deal with Central Freight Lines, which I booked. I received an email from Freightera that Central Freight confirmed the pickup. At about 2pm on pickup day, I realize the pickup has not been made. I used the online chat with Freightera for an update, and after waiting nearly an hour for an answer, the chat was ended with no resolution. The Freightera rep said they were waiting on hold for the carrier, which I had done myself for an hour with no answer. I found a direct phone phone number for the carrier on my own — shouldn’t Freightera have this number!? The carrier, Central Freight, said Freightera never sent them the BOL or any paperwork so they could not make the pickup. The carrier also said they don’t make pickups from my warehouse on the day requested. I tried to get Freightera to schedule a same-day pickup to get the shipment, but they were unable to do so. Freightera apparently has no connections with the carriers they use, aside from calling the published customer service number and waiting on hold like everyone else. Also, when a scheduled pickup has not been made by a certain time, shouldn’t Freightera realize this and attempt to handle the situation? So in my experience, Freightera offered shipping solutions that were unable to be fulfilled; they had no means of contacting the scheduled carrier; and they were unable to contact a carrier to rectify the situation. Now I’m hit with the storage fees I was trying to avoid. I cannot trust Freightera, and will never use them in the future.
