Used Home Trust Visa as my main CC for a year
Home Trust Visa Canada uses a third party, US based "chargeback customer service" company to handle disputes. When I disputed a transaction for a service I did not receive, the American chargeback company required a time-sensitive reply from me. Unfortunately they handle everything via snail mail, so they sent a letter across an international border in the midst of a pandemic which required a reply within 2 weeks, but took 3 weeks to arrive. I contacted the chargeback company when I received the letter, but they had already closed the dispute and refused to do anything. I contacted Home Trust and was told they would look into it and get back to me, but never heard from them. Home Trust's incompetence and disorganization cost me $70, and cost them thousands by losing me as a customer. Maybe that's why they can't afford a website that doesn't look like it's from 1997.
