Where is the customer care Aldi ?
Two years ago my wife went into Aldi. She failed to notice a wet floor sign laying flat on the floor. She trod on it, it skidded backwards and she took a nasty fall injuring her left leg and ankle. Staff were quick to help her into a chair and complete an accident report. She went to hospital, had xrays, soft tissue damage was the outcome. Two years later she is still suffering from the accident. She is unable to walk long distances, has to wear a compression stocking and have regular physio treatments. Her quality of life has been significantly affected and she can no longer enjoy walks along the beach or through parks and gardens. So far we have spent in excess of $3000 on medical bills. We asked Aldi for help to cover the cost of those treatments, no damages or anything else, just the medical. Aldi did not want to know. Their CCTV showed a previous customer knocking the sign over with her trolley. They say that according to law they are allowed 20 minutes to rectify such a situation, the sign was knocked over just a few minutes before the accident so they have no legal liability. So, no sympathy, no compassion, no moral liability and a demonstrable lack of customer care. My wife was not at fault, she did not intend tripping on a sign knocked over by someone else. She chose to shop in Aldi and because of that she is still suffering the consequences, and Aldi apparently could not care less. Very disappointed .
