What Happened to PSECU?
Twelve years ago after moving to Pennsylvania, I opened an account with PSECU. It was a seamless process and interaction by phone was rare, but always pleasant. It was my first encounter with a credit union following years of offensive relation ships with banks. At-home banking was also a surprise as the platform was well-designed, self-intuitive and reflected PSECU's concerns about security and customer confidence. Around two years ago, things began to change and very much for the worse. Interaction with PSECU by telephone became a game of chance in that my experience varied greatly among PSECU associates. In other words, some associates were borderline rude, others with long-time familiar voices were extremely helpful. However, it became rare that I got to speak with a seasoned Associate. Additionally, the home banking platform was killed off and customers were forced into a new version that had fewer helpful features, was buggy (a lot fixed) and not so self-intuitive. It's also just plain ugly. The worst part is the Bill Payer section and after months of suggestions and complaints, there has been little response, most of it "boilerplate," saying nothing. All-in-all, PSECU has become more like a bank, offering a cold shoulder to complaints or suggestions. Some PSECU Associates have said that it's a different world inside the organization with an attitude change dating back to new management. I have no experience with other credit unions. I'm just sooo sorry that PSECU is no longer trustworthy and it certainly doesn't inspire confidence.
