Switching account on death of spouse.
My wife died recently, and I contacted Home Telecom to transfer DD payments to my bank account. I was assured this had been done, but a couple of weeks later HT cut off our broadband without warning because my wife's bank had notified them she had died! I was on the phone to HT for over an hour, speaking to a number of different departments and being cut off once. I was finally assured that the switch had been made, and that our broadband would be restored by midnight. It was not! Phoned again the following day and spoke to a number of people, finally finding somebody who was able to restore our connection there and then. Not the greatest customer service experience at a particularly difficult time. However, some of those we spoke to were extremely helpful and apologetic.
