Grand if you don't own a passport, never want to visit Northern Ireland and no nobody with a foreign phone number
I'm in Belfast. My mobile data wasn't working initially when I crossed the border then worked for wee while, then stopped soon after. Maybe because I moved location. I just spent the last hour and a bit editing file settings called APNs and now it's working again...but for how long? Before joining 48.ie, I've probably visited 50 countries around the world using an Irish SIM and rarely had any issues with roaming, and certainly nothing that required me to spend more than 2 minutes checking things such as my phone was set to allow roaming data. I've used local SIM cards on 5 continents and none of them required this level of technical tinkering to access mobile data. For example, at one point while entering APN settings, I accidentally typed 48 internet, instead of 48 Internet on one of the many lines of APN file settings, which of course caused it to fail. When you're asked to manually enter file settings such as, for example, MMSC - http://mmc1/servlets/MMS, the chance of an upper versus lowercase typo is high. Luckily I had screenshotted the roaming trouble shooting guide for 48.ie while in Dublin, because a colleague who uses 48 had warned me that it was not a seamless experience. Come on 48, you are subsidiary of three.ie, which I was a customer of for nearly 20 years and never had any issues roaming in Europe, why are you making roaming so difficult?
