You cannot port your number on their internal systems
I am on a monthly pay-as-you-go contract with IDMobile and looking at their specials I wanted to take up a 24month contract for a new mobile handset. But alas, as Anusha from their online helpline stated: IDMobile is unable to port a mobile number internally from a pay-as-you-go to a new contract without the mobile number being 'lost'. Which means my only option for getting the handset I want AND keeping my number is for me to cancel my pay-as-you-go with them - use another supplier for a month and then I can come back to IDMobile to take up a new handset outside in my current 'upgrade path'. What do you think I'm going to do?
