My policy hasn't even started yet so I am being cautious. Insurance is something people hope they don't need but the real test of a company is if they are there when you need them. I used GoCompare for a quote. Aegus was in 5th place but just £10 more than the cheapest quote. A family member's bad experience of the cheapest company LV meant they were off while the next cheapest quotes were from the same company which is obsessed with up-selling so they were off too. Ageas was next. A bit research told me that they were a reputable Belgium firm so in these days of trade wars and trump tariffs I went for them. I hope I've made the right choice. It was also glad that the limited up-selling was restricted to four or five questions on one page and almost all relevant to my policy.
