Needs some work
This is our 3rd stay at Brett Robinson (BR) in 7 years. Tried to get a condo for 3 weeks for the 2018 winter season but BR told us they were not taking reservations so we went the VRBO route which we will never do again. Why? No customer service or awesome amenities like we have come to expect at BR P-VII and PW-II. BR Staff at POB I was exceptional and very attentive to our needs. A broken patio recliner was promptly replaced and maintenance personnel responded quickly to our broken icemaker and several burned out bulbs. The reason I only gave them three stars is because of the condition and cleanliness of the condo itself. If we could have PERSONALLY visited this unit (POB #1322) before we rented, we would not have rented it. It is evident that there is no minimum standard to which condo owners must adhere to. When we spend the amount of money that we do we expect that the place we are renting will be as nice as or better than our home. The furnishings were outdated, beat up, dirty, broken and appear to be "stock" furnishings that you might see in a hotel with several hundred rooms. Springs in the living room sofas were broken so it made getting up difficult. Living room lighting was woefully inadequate. Tiny little lamps and too few of them. We had a recliner that must have been covered in grease and shampooed over and over to no avail. The metal linkage in the underside of the rocker was broken in half and squeaked anytime someone sat on it. Vertical blinds in the living room were a joke. All different lengths, several of them twisted and impossible to close or just plain missing. Box springs in the beds were broken. Dining room table was on a rectangular pedestal such that when seated you couldn't push your chair up to the table because there was no place to put your legs. Cooking utensils? Only 2- 8 inch revere ware frying pans to cook with in a place that sleeps 8 people! Had to go to the Dollar Store to get a large nonstick pan with spatulas so I could make a real breakfast. The way the living room was arranged it was impossible to see the TV because it was only 36" and placed waaaaaay at the other end of the room. Two of the carpeted bedrooms had old style "box" TV's which did not work. Bedroom carpets were filthy. The heater vents and ceiling fan blades were dirty black. Outside areas, landscaping, pools were very clean and inviting. Very well kept up. The elevators and stairwells however REEK of mold/mildew and are in need of a cosmetic repair, better lighting and some moisture absorbing packs. The manager did come up and we expressed our displeasure. He informed us that the owners lived out of state and it's my guess that they never visit or if they do they don't care and it shows. We love POB and will be back next year. But if you are looking to rent this particular unit (#1322), don't waste your money.
