Northern Cyprus tour - save your money
Currently on the Northern Cyprus tour - all I can say is don't bother! Been on 2 previous RSD trips - really enjoyed them but not this one, and will never travel with them again, no matter how cheap. Fully aware have to visit the factories but what you don't expect is to leave your hotel at 9.15am and not actually see anything on your tour itinerary until just after 2.00pm and then only given 1.30 mins (Bellapais), which didn't give enough time to view the site and grab a little lunch. From 9.15am until then was in firstly a jewellery outlet and then straight on to the leather outlet. We then finally reached the other item on our itinerary just before 4.00pm - Kyrenia Castle to then be told by the guide that best hurry around as it closes at 5.00pm - so almost 5 hours in 'factories' and an 2.5 hours in the places you've actually come to visit - utter joke! We're off to the 'free week' hotel day after tomorrow - been told by the guide that it's in the middle of nowhere so strongly advises to buy the all inclusive - so basically you don't have an option do you! No doubt there's a lot to see in Northern Cyprus but you're not going to see it with RSD because we haven't, but yet again we're now experts on carpets, leather and jewellery! Plus on the day we visited the carpet factory because we spent so long in there one item on our itinerary was missed due to lack of time - didn't bother me as not particularly somewhere wanted to go but others on trip did, simply not acceptable.
