Classic Tuscany Tour Travel Department
Returned from Classic Tuscany Tour with TD on the 15th October 2024. The guide Tabita was very good and knowledgeable. However, I would warn that the food in the Hotel Michangelo was way below acceptable. Exactly the same breakfast was rolled each day, under cooked bacon and over cooked scrambled eggs. The evening meals were very poor, a lot of fellow travellers, myself included, ate out most evenings. The first night was good but went rapidly downhill, our tour guide addressed it with the hotel and on last night meal was slightly better. Disappointing food and one night the hotel bar had run out of a lot of basic spirits ... we were told it was a delayed order, it was like the hotel was in shut down mode. Also no tea/coffee facilities in room. Other than the food, the hotel a little dated but was clean, staff were lovely but food let them down, also all movements from other rooms could be heard from toilets being flashed to drawers opening and closing. Travel Department were made aware of issues with this hotel but still continued to use it. Following a complaint to the TD I was fobbed off with a generic reply and no follow up.
